More Than Myself | A Poem by Sebastian

That day when my name was announced

I walked towards the stage and took my place

I felt very happy and contented

Almost everyone stood up

And clapped and cheered for me

But, do you know what was even more satisfying?

Your name being uttered immediately after mine.

My heart and soul�s content reached its maximum level

I�ve never felt like this before

It was truly euphoric

Tears automatically started falling from my eyes.

I don�t ever remember feeling this satisfied

I always wanted fame and success

But, I always wanted and still want you to be more famous and successful.

I don�t have this feeling for anyone else

I always feel happy when you succeed, to the extent that your success always overshadows my achievements

And I say this absolutely without any remorse

It is with great pride and joy that I say this

I want you to be miles above me.
