Returning | A Poem by Krushna Chandra Mishra

Now if not before
in this returning to you
I show my utmost simplicity
though you know
even this clarification
has about it much to say
how you nurture me
in your best regrets
about how once and ever
I fail to rise up to the mark
you so diligently put for me
patting ever on my back
putting in a loving whimper
in whispers that you temper
with anger and care and love.

Let me have no bitterness
now that I have come to
know you better in terms
of your great intentions
to admire me with those
awakening admonishmets
and to make me look
how the whole world
would appreciate
for the way I choose
words and ways alike.
