The Dark | A Poem by Charles Truant

It's the hole she can't fill.
It's the thirst she can't quench.
It keeps her safe, this darkness.
It's a familiar pain and she knows just what to expect.
Don't stay in the darkness too long, my love.
You just might forget how beautiful you are in the light.
