Happiness Is the Key | A Poem by Sebastian

Most people run after money, fame, success, or a combination of these three. But, my personal belief is: If you are not happy, you really do not have anything to value or cherish wholeheartedly.

Tom earned $5 million annually. He lead a pretty luxurious life. But, his wife needed constant love and attention. She felt lonely quite often. She worked in a school and would be free by one pm. Tom returned home at six or six-thirty in the morning on most days. She needed constant attention. She started to go to the nearby park in the afternoons. She felt alone without Tom, and started interacting with some other guys. In addition to the casual relations with some of them, she started developing strong romantic feelings for a particular guy. He earned less than Tom, but could give her more time. Eventually, she decided to live with the new guy and separated from Tom. The divorce proceedings have not officially begun.

Susan was a brilliant dancer. She was a natural, didnt really require many lessons or instructors. She became well-known as a dancer and acquired a lot of fame very early in her life. She lived her life the way she wanted the media to portray her, she acquired love and affection by giving people expensive gifts. Slowly, she started spending less on others, when the people who surrounded her understood this, they left her pretty quickly. At 45, she realized she did not lead her life the way she should have, and as a consequence, she had no true support from anyone.

Thomas was 72. He lived in an old-age home. He went there when he realized he had no true friends. He only associated with people for his career progress. He really did well as a marketing executive. He never gave his heart to anyone and, after retirement, there was no one left by his side. He had been quite robotic throughout his work life, never shared his feelings with anyone. Never fell in love. He went to an old-age home to guarantee some company in his remaining days.
