Don't Compare- Embrace Your Uniqueness And Flaunt It

Does everyone really need to climb the rope in gym class, study 20th century poetry, physics, calculus? Oh God please not calculus. -  Steffi Erbilgin ( huffpost)

Each person is born with particular gifts and innate skills, a tendency to be better at some things rather than others.

Usain Bolt is a terrific athlete but Taylor Swift is an exceptional gifted musician. Angelina Jolie is a film icon But Neymar is a world-class footballer. Yes! These are skills they've developed over time thanks to their different core strengths.

Our DNA is different, we don't all have the same qualities, skill sets or interests.

Vanessa likes pizza but Joe doesn't. She likes movies he likes sports. Jane is an introvert but Emily don't just know when to shut up ( * fictional names)

The fact is we are all different , very different at times and so it's unfair to compare ourselves or life circumstances to others, or conform to standards others want us to follow. It's also wrong to assess our self-worth based on what people think.

As early as kindergarten, Michael Phelps had trouble with inattention. A teacher told his mother, herself a teacher, “Your son will never be able to focus on anything.”

He was diagnosed with ADHD( Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) in sixth grade. But while he couldn’t sit through class without fidgeting, he could swim for up to three hours at the pool after school.

He has since gone to become the most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time, with a total of 28 medals.

Never compare yourself to anyone because we are all on different paths in life.

At 25, J.K. Rowling lost her mother. After her mother's death, Rowling moved to northern Portugal for a fresh start and taught English as a foreign language. She started dating a man named Jorge Arantes, became pregnant, and moved into a small two-bedroom apartment with Arantes' mother.

They miscarried, but they married in October 1992. Rowling later gave birth to a daughter, Jessica, in July 1993.

The rocky marriage lasted a mere 13 months, and Rowling and Jessica returned to the UK to live in Edinburgh, Scotland, not long after. She carried three chapters of "Harry Potter" in her suitcase with her.

Living in a cramped apartment with her daughter, jobless and penniless, Rowling fell into a deep depression and admits she even considered suicide. She was forced to rely on state benefits and spent much of her time writing "Harry Potter" in cafés with Jessica sleeping in the pram next to her.

She thought of herself as the biggest failure ever. Now she's said to have contributed so much to world literature than anyone else in history. When she submitted her Harry Potter manuscript she was rejected by more than 10 publishing houses thinking the book would be a failure. Thank goodness she didn't see in their light and has given to the world the gift of Harry Potter.

     Closing Quotes

Self-belief and hard work will always earn you success.

Great people do not standout because they fixed a few minor weaknesses. They prevail because they are extraordinary in certain areas.

Life is what we make it, always has been, always will be.

I walk slowly but never backwards

Don't be afraid to give up the good to go for the great.

There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed

Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls
