Enough with the Guns | A Poem by Fed Up

enough with the guns.
we get it, you love them,
they make you feel powerful,
they make you feel safer,
you can fend off all the evildoers
you've made up in your mind or
have been fed by the "news" you watch
or the shouting mouths you listen to.
i have news for you,
we don't need all these guns,
no civilized society does.
don't you have any other interests?
there are so many other things you could love
other than guns: yourself, your family,
your neighbors, your fellow citizens,
get some help, you'll thank me for it,
and fewer people will be killed.
