A Good Neighbor | A Poem by Jon Bennett

The big problem is Lisa in 307,
says the building manager,
shes smoking crack again.
Blasts that stereo
all night, I say.
The subwoofers, he says.
Lisa once knocked on my door
for a cup of sugar.
I dont have any, I said.
Butter?
No, I said.  All I have
is vinegar.
Ill take it!
In this neighborhood
a good stereo
is like a good neighbor
its one
you can
turn down.
